MOLL BRAU

Moll's paintings deal with the feminine and the grotesque,

the loss of connection to the things we consume, how the things we consume relate to the body,

specifically the female body —

sexual connotation of fruits, to the literal relationship between female body parts and female garments.

Moll's paintings deal with her interior struggles to be.

— the oppression of conventional gender roles, the shame of breaking free from those norms, guilt associated.

To deal with this Moll works on her physical strengths,

wanting to combat these haunting feelings head on with pure brute force and unabashed attempt at self-mastery.

Pulling Moll along is the idea of aura, ones from her female ancestors and one she is making for her viewer to be able to enter into.

A physic space of some sort.
